SAINTS LOCAL HISTORY GROUP
Over the many years people have
been drawn to Church by the rich peal
of 6 Bells sending their call across the fields.
Set in a quiet country churchyard is the 11th Century Church of
ALL SAINTS, TILNEY
Built with Barnack Rag stone
it has an imposing 13th Century Tower and
a tall 14th Century Spire that can be seen from some distance away.
The interior has Norman and Early English arches. A medieval and a
17th Century Font, Queen Anne Royal Arms dated 1711,
15th Century Parclose Screens and a Jacobean Chancel Screen.
There are some lovely Misericord seats and the
crowning glory a wonderful Double Hammer Beam roof.
People from far and wide have expressed their delight at
the charm of this church and say it is well worth the visit.
