TILNEY ALL SAINTS LOCAL
HISTORY GROUP
Between Kings Lynn &
Wisbech flanked by the A17 and the A47
main trunk roads, you can step away from the noise and hustle of
these areas and find yourself in the peace and tranquillity of the
small Norfolk village of.
Tilney All Saints.
Tilney all Saints was once known as one of the seven
towns of Marshland.
Town is hardly the word you would use to describe
this rural location today.
The village is made up of two parts, Tilney All Saints itself coupled
with
Tilney High End. The dwellings range from the new
to those that are
reputed to be 500 years old. Many of which have the luxury of a view
over the vast expanse of the fens.
Tilney All Saints the church sits among some of the oldest dwellings in
Church Rd. The spire can be seen for miles. Photographs of this
beautiful
church can be seen here
If you come to our village on a shopping spree you will be
disappointed.
We have no shops. Though at one time we could boast of five public
houses
So forget the shops. Forget the traffic. Leave the hustle and bustle
behind,
escape and just stroll through our village and enjoy the rural
atmosphere.
We would love to hear from
you
if you are a former resident of the village,
a current resident or if you have an interest of any kind in our
village.
